About
About DNA Layer
DNA Layer turns the raw DNA file you already have into a personalised, evidence-cited health layer — deterministic matching first, AI explanation second.
What DNA Layer is
DNA Layer reads raw DNA export files from consumer genetic testing services (23andMe, AncestryDNA, and MyHeritage; TellMeGen support exists but is newer and less tested; whole-genome/whole-exome VCF support is on the roadmap) and turns them into a personalised health report. Variant matching runs in deterministic software against a curated evidence layer, so the same file always produces the same findings; language models only explain findings that have already been verified, and never read the raw file directly. Every report is checked against a clinical-grade safety floor drawing on ClinVar, ClinGen Actionability, CPIC, FDA pharmacogenomic labels, and PharmGKB.
Where to find the detail
How DNA Layer builds your report covers the full methodology. The glossary defines the genetics terms used throughout the site. Learn indexes every guide and explainer, including per-provider data-privacy comparisons and topic explainers like pharmacogenomics and polygenic risk scores.
