Your raw DNA file is read locally in your browser. DNA Layer does not store your original raw DNA file — only the derived findings needed to show your health layer are kept, DNA Layer never sells genetic data, and you can delete everything from your account at any time.
MyHeritage’s own stated privacy policies
MyHeritage’s own policy pledges not to sell users’ genetic data to any third party, recognises you as the owner of your genetic data, and makes deletion available. It also states that law enforcement cannot use MyHeritage’s DNA services unless compelled by a court order. MyHeritage’s DNA testing lab holds CLIA certification and CAP accreditation, the standard accreditations for clinical laboratory testing in the United States.
One thing worth knowing if you’re reviewing any provider’s policy, not specific to MyHeritage: many consumer DNA companies, including MyHeritage, reserve the right to share de-identified genetic data with academic or pharmaceutical research partners. This is disclosed in MyHeritage’s own privacy materials and is worth reading directly if it matters to you.
If you already have a MyHeritage file
None of the above changes what you can already do with a MyHeritage raw data file you have already downloaded. DNA Layer reads that same file — the one from your existing MyHeritage account — to build your personalised health layer. You do not need a new test.

No. DNA Layer is built for the raw data file from a test you have already taken. If you have never tested, any of the supported consumer providers will do.
